Youth are invited to join the London Youth Action Team to consider and take action to address various social issues and community needs.
Participants will engage in activities, hear from guest speakers, and work on projects that will address the issues that matter to them.
Each day the team will consider a specific topic or issue, then they will do something to give back or take action!
Some of the topics that will be considered over the 8 sessions include:
- Environment
- Poverty/homelessness
- Inclusion
- Human rights
- Food insecurity
- Mental health
- Advocacy
Youth who attend these sessions will gain new skills, make new friends, earn volunteer hours, and walk away feeling proud of the fact that they have done something to make a difference in our community.
We will be serving lunch to the youth during each session. Please share any allergies or food restrictions that we need to be aware of on the registration form.
After registering, youth can choose to attend all of the sessions or select the dates that work best for them.
Dates:
- July 11th, 13th, 19th, 21st, 25th and 27th, 2023
- August 2nd and 4th, 2023
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Ages: 12 to 16 years old (Grades 7 to 10)
