To accommodate cleaning of the change rooms, swimming classes will be broken up by gender (whichever change room you prefer).
The schedule will be as follows:
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19, we are currently offering private lessons for Swimmer 4 and above ONLY. Lessons will be taught at a distance with limited equipment.
For children 6 or older. Children should be fairly comfortable in the deep end. Diving is introduced. Front crawl is expanded upon and back crawl is learned. They also start to learn whip kick on back to prepare for elementary backstroke.
For children 6 or older. Longer distances are introduced. More complex dives are learned. Back crawl is expanded upon. Elementary backstroke is learned and whip kick on front is learned to prepare for breaststroke. Eggbeater is introduced. Children going into this level should have minimal corrections to make on their Front crawl.
For children 6 or older. Elementary backstroke is expanded upon. Breaststroke is learned. Other strokes are not taught yet to allow for children to practice the complexities of breaststroke (often a difficult stroke to learn). Children going into this level should have minimal corrections to make on their Front and Back crawl.
For children 6 or older. Breaststroke is expanded upon. Scissor kick is learned to prepare for side stroke. Children going into this level should have minimal corrections to make on their Front and Back crawl, and Elementary backstroke.
For children 6 or older. Side stroke is learned and expanded upon. All strokes are expected to be perfected and need no corrections by the end of this level. First aid and rescue skills become a larger component to prepare for Rookie, Ranger and Star. Greater focus is placed on creating and working towards goals that children make for themselves.
Make up Lesson Policy: We do not offer make-up lessons for missed classes due to illness, injury, late registration, conflicting obligations, lack of transportation or lack of success and/or enjoyment from the program. However, make-up lessons may be offered due to pool mechanical issues or instructor illness, if scheduling permits.
In the case of poor registration, classes will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. We will do our best to combine classes and alter the schedule, so this is not the case.
Registration CLOSES on Friday, September 25, 2020 at noon (12:00 p.m.). Please plan accordingly, we do not accept registrations on the first day of classes.
